Looking back, I would have saved a little money and just ordered the RGB case - but it's good to have the extra USB 2.0 ports up front. I was able to get an adapter that let me connect one of the USB 3.0 case cables to a USB 2.0 header on my motherboard to give me front USB 2.0 ports. With the controller, you end up with an extra USB 3.0 connection, but I only had room for one USB 3.0 and one 3.2 (USB-C) connection on my motherboard. If your motherboard supports ARGB Gen2, connect Gen2 devices directly to the motherboard. The RGB case (without controller) still has a fan/ARGB Gen1 hub that connects to an RGB-capable motherboard. The location can be swapped with the external front USB/audio ports that are the top front of the case. But that ended up being an extra module (2 USB ports, 4 buttons for external fan/RGB control) that came installed in the lower left front.
